Chamois
(Rupicapra rupicapra l.)

The Balkan chamois as it is called among hunters is hunted in the typical mountain districts, mainly in the Rhodopi Mountains but also in the Rila mountains south from Sofia . The hunt is really for hunters in a good physical condition and with good shooting skills because long distance shots have to be made.

Depending on the size we can recommend hunt from November to beginning of March when the chamois is in the winter coat. The smallest requirement for medals is 95 CIC points. The method of hunting is stalking and from high seat.
